Ivan Carreras, MD, of Carreras Medical Center, is an outstanding internal medicine physician who inspires his team to provide the finest health care to the community of Hialeah, Florida.
Dr. Carreras began his career by studying for his medical degree at Instituto Superior de Ciencias Médicas, Santiago de Cuba, Cuba. He graduated in 2004, receiving the Highest Achievers Medical Honor Society award, and went on to complete his residency in internal medicine at the University Medical Center of El Paso, Texas, in association with the Paul L. Foster School of Medicine, Texas Tech University Health Sciences Center.
After completing his residency, Dr. Carreras gained invaluable experience working as an internal medicine specialist at health care facilities in Cuba and Florida, including the Martyrs of Jamaica Hospital in Guantánamo, Cuba, and the Catholic Hospice in Miami Lakes, Florida. In 2017, Dr. Carreras set up his own private practice, Carreras Medical Center, in Hialeah.
Dr. Carreras is a respected member of the medical community, recognized for his extensive expertise and experience. In addition to being certified by the Internal Medicine Board, he is a member of the American College of Physicians, and holds certification in advanced cardiac life support. Dr. Carreras also co-authored a medical research paper presented at the annual meeting of the American College of Gastroenterology.
